The Alberta Fish & Game Association is the official Wildlife Records keeper for the province of Alberta. Records of trophy big game, birds and fish have been kept for almost half a century, documenting the outstanding quality of fish and wildlife resources in Alberta.
Please see the AFGA yearly records listed below as printed for each of the Alberta Fish & Game Association’s Wildlife Awards Banquets held in April each year.
Congratulations to our 2022 Wildlife Awards Winners, and thank you to Zone 3 for hosting a fantastic Banquet to celebrate our winners!
Note that due to the cancellation of the 2020 Wildlife Awards Banquet, held to celebrate our 2019 Wildlife Awards recipients, please see the following virtual AFGA Awards Video. Special thanks to T.J. Schwanky, AFGA Wildlife Projects Facilitator for the production of this video.
The above records, up to 2018, have been used to build our 1st, 2nd, 3rd and fourth edition of the Alberta Wildlife Record book.
It is full of great photos and interesting stories from members, as well as wildlife trends and statistics supplied by Alberta Environment & Parks (formerly: Sustainable Resources Development – SRD). This is more than a trophy record book of birds, fish and big game but will also contain exciting articles featuring hunting and fishing experiences by many of your favourite writers not to mention fantastic colour photos.
That’s not all … you’ll also learn about the history of the AFGA, fishing and hunting ethics, gun control, value of habitat, field care of trophies along with a list of Alberta Measurers.
